Jennifer L. Kelsch, LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who received her Master’s degree in Social Work from Stony Brook University in 2005. Jennifer joined the Freedman Center in 2005 as the first associate member.
Jennifer has a strong passion for working with children, teenagers and young adults. Her experience includes helping clients face a variety of issues including behavioral issues, substance abuse, relationship issues, school related issues, depression, anxiety, PTSD, crisis intervention, trauma and issues of gender and sexual orientation. Jennifer was trained as part of the Critical Incidence Stress Management (CISM) team. She has provided support and counseling to Emergency Service volunteers and their families in response to traumatic incidences through demobilization.
Working as a member of this practice, Jennifer has had many clients from the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) community. Jennifer facilitates a group for lesbian moms and their children on a monthly basis. Jennifer also assists new families looking to conceive through assistive reproduction technology and through adoption by completing psychosocial screens, completion of required documentation and adoption home studies.
Jennifer provides emotional supportive counseling for individuals, couples, families and groups covering a spectrum of concerns. She is an integral part of The Freedman Center team and is on a variety of insurance panels including Aetna, Beacon, Cigna, Emblem, Empire (Blue Cross/ Blue Shield), Fidelis, 1199, Magnacare and other participating providers.
