Jennifer L. Kelsch, LCSW

Jennifer L. Kelsch is a Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW) who received her Master’s degree in Social Work from Stony Brook University in 2005.
She joined Dr. Freedman’s practice in 2005.  Working as a member of this practice, Jennifer has had many clients from the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community.  She also has a strong passion for work with children and teenagers.   Her experience includes helping clients face a variety of obstacles and issues including: substance abuse, domestic violence, relationship issues, school related issues, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, PTSD, crisis intervention, and trauma.

Jennifer is part of the Suffolk County Critical Incidence Stress Management team.  She provides support and counseling to Emergency Service volunteers and families in response to traumatic incidences through demobilization.  This specialized process involved responding to the event to observe personnel, defusing (speaking to the emergency response personnel before they are dismissed), debriefing (a group session with those who participated in the event within 48-72 hours of the event) and one-on-one counseling.

Jennifer provides emotional supportive counseling for individuals, couples, families and groups covering a spectrum of concerns.  She is an integral part of The Freedman Center team.
